Annual Deadlines for Submissions: September 15 and January 30.
Submissions must be received by Open Studio by 5:00 pm on the deadline date. Where the deadline falls on a weekend, submissions must be received by the following Monday.

Submissions are now being accepted to exhibit in the Open Studio Gallery for 2011.

Open Studio is an artist-run printmaking centre that presents a wide range of print media-based works from traditional to experimental, including work that, although not produced using traditional printmaking techniques, shares through its conceptual concerns a relationship to printmaking. Accepted formats include: 2 and 3-dimensional works, bookworks, digital and multi-media installation-based work. Proposals by individual artists, groups and curators will be considered. CARFAC Artist Fees are paid.

PLEASE SUBMIT:

• Twelve (12) images embedded in a PowerPoint compatible document (.ppt documents only)**
• A corresponding image list indicating size, medium, title and date for all images.
• Exhibition proposal (max 2 pages). The majority of works proposed for exhibition must be existing works. Proposals for exhibitions that are site-specific in nature should include images that are significantly representative of the work that is being proposed (i.e. detailed schematics and/or images of similar work in other locations).
• A curriculum vitae with current address, telephone number and email address.
• All text documents (proposal, CV, image list) must be submitted with the application as printed documents and saved on your disc as PDFs.
• A self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like your application materials returned. Please use only stamps, and not prepaid, dated postage meter tapes. If submitting from outside Canada please include International Postage Coupons, available at your local Post Office. Submissions that do not include postage will not be returned.

** Digital images must comply with the following guidelines:

• compatible with MacIntosh OS X 10.4
  
• Image files must be embedded in a PowerPoint compatible document (.ppt documents only; .pptx documents are not accepted; other formats, i.e. .jpg or .tif will not be viewed, disqualifying the submission).
  
• identify each image within its document with a number and a title corresponding to the image list.

Notification: Submissions will be juried* and notification sent out approximately eight weeks from the deadline. Submissions not selected will be returned in the self-addressed, stamped envelopes provided. If you ahve not provided a self-addressed stamped envelope, your submission will not be returned.

* The Exhibition Selection Committee is comprised of 5 peer jurors as follows:
1. Chair of Open Studio's Programming Committee
2. A member of Open Studio's Programming Committee  
3. An Open Studio Artist (member or renter)
4. An artist/curator/writer/arts administrator from the larger visual arts community
5. A person matching any of the criteria listed in items 2 through 4 above
